I began several years of art instruction in the 1980’s with water color and made the transition to acrylic/multi-media in the mid-90’s to enhance the visual and textural aspect of the works I wanted to produce.  I want my work to quite literally vibrate with emotion, striking a balance between embracing the fundamental elements of abstraction while providing the senses with immediate satisfaction.  My paintings are concerned with effects of changing light and colour, capturing movement within the scene.
 

 

Artist Statement: “When I paint, I am aware of my surroundings as contributing to the impermanence of the moment I stand in. My hope is that someone will look at my work with their own interpretation and take pause.”
